What is an AI disclosure statement?
A short, plain-language text telling clients whether and how you use artificial intelligence in your work: which tools, for which tasks, which data you keep out of them and who checks the results before they are used.
Is it required by law?
It depends on the country and the profession. In Italy, for example, Article 13 of Law No 132 of 23 September 2025 requires professionals in the intellectual professions to tell clients about the AI systems they use, in clear, simple and comprehensive language. In the European Union the AI Act also sets transparency rules for some AI-generated content, and many professional bodies issue their own guidance. Even where it is not required, a clear statement builds trust.
